Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered annually to a person who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to enhancing the lives of youngsters in our neighborhood.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary college trainer and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of numerous children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and leading a profitable community-driven marketing campaign to improve local playgrounds, ensuring safe and inclusive play spaces for all children.
The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will function speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
