Child Center of Pennsylvania honors Brian Houchins Community Recognition Award

Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg is the recipient of 2023 community Recognition Award.  This prestigious award is introduced yearly to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to enhancing the lives of youngsters in our community.

Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary college instructor and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children's schooling and welfare.  Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas.  Houchins' initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven marketing campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, making certain safe and inclusive play spaces for all kids.

The award ceremony shall be held on January 15,on the 15th of January,2024,2024at the Mechanicsburg Community Center.  The event will function speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins' contributions, and the award presentation.
